Our Journey — From 2,000 Sq. Ft.
to Over 1 Lakh Sq. Ft.

Akash Storage and Distribution Services Pvt Ltd was founded in the year 1999, with a simple yet powerful vision — to provide businesses in Mumbai with reliable, affordable, and professionally managed 3PL warehousing services. We began our journey with just 2,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in Bhiwandi and a two-member team, focused entirely on earning our clients' trust.

Over the next two and a half decades, that trust translated into growth. Today, Akash Storage and Distribution Services operates over 1,00,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space across Bhiwandi, JNPT, Kalamboli and Mumbai, supported by a team of more than 50 dedicated warehousing and logistics professionals. In July 2022, we proudly incorporated the business as a Private Limited company, marking a major milestone in our journey.

We expanded our operations to Navi Mumbai in 2011, adding our JNPT-linked facility for import-export clients and establishing our Kalamboli industrial hub to serve the wider MMR. Today our five locations — Bhiwandi, JNPT, Kalamboli, Mumbai and CBD Belapur — give importers, exporters, and manufacturers a distinct logistical advantage, reducing transit times and operational costs significantly.

Founded in Bhiwandi

Sanjay Bhoite and Surendra Gawde establish Akash Storage with a 2,000 sq ft facility and the first client onboarded in the first month.

2005

First Major Expansion

Expanded to 30,000 sq ft in Bhiwandi. A dedicated distribution fleet is added and packaging is launched as a standalone service.

2010

50,000 sq ft Milestone

Bhiwandi facility crosses 50,000 sq ft. First multinational client onboarded. Team grows to 30+ members.

2012

Kalamboli Opens

Second facility launches in Navi Mumbai, extending services to JNPT port cargo, south Mumbai, and the Konkan belt.

2018

ODC & Heavy Cargo

Specialist ODC division established. First over-dimensional cargo move completed for an engineering client in Thane.

An engineering graduate with over 25 years of hands-on experience in warehousing, supply chain management, and 3PL logistics. Mr. Bhoite founded Akash Storage in 1999 with a clear vision — to give Mumbai businesses a reliable, professionally managed alternative to fragmented local storage. Under his leadership, the company grew from a 2,000 sq ft single-facility operation to a 1 lakh+ sq ft, multi-location enterprise serving 250+ clients across diverse industries. He continues to be personally involved in every major client engagement, ensuring standards are never compromised.
